One year of RAEX – What is your experience?May 21, 2010
One year of RAEX
· What is your experience?
· What needs to be improved for RAEX 2012?
· Is RAEX something for vendors and data clearing houses only?
One year ago the RAEX AA.14 standard became mandatory for all GSMA members. Today, many operators use RAEX and most of them like the way it improves the efficiency in managing roaming agreement documents. On the other hand there are several operators that have not implemented the standard for different reasons and are not compliant yet.
What is your experience with RAEX? Is there anything that the current RAEX standard is missing from your point of view or in which area would you like to see improvements?
The next update of RAEX is scheduled for 2012. Many new features, like a better validation of the documents and the separation of the IOT from the AA.14 should bring further improvements. However, the fact is that most of the changes of the standard are driven by vendors and data clearing houses and not by mobile network operators. That’s kind of crazy, isn’t it? Therefore, we want to hear what you as an operator have to say! ROAMSYS is very active in the GSMA standardization groups that define the new standard. We will listen to your thoughts and bring in your ideas to make sure RAEX 2012 will have a focus on your – the operator’s – needs and ultimately will make your life as a roaming specialist easier.
Please use this opportunity and let us know what you think needs to be incorporated in RAEX 2012! We would love to receive your feedback at raex2012@roamsys.com.
ROAMSYS RMS Rollout Manager – Launching new roaming agreements and services can be so easyApril 06, 2010
ROAMSYS has introduced the Rollout Manager, the company’s latest addition to its suite of Roaming Management Solutions (RMS). The Rollout Manager allows mobile operators to improve the quality and efficiency during the launch of roaming services for both new and existing roaming partners. All steps from the first contact with the roaming partner until going live of the service are being supported, giving full transparency to the actual implementation status to all involved staff. Both inbound and outbound roaming services can be planned and tracked independently.
With the Rollout Manager your roaming team streamlines the implementation process of new roaming agreements/services by using best-practice launch templates. These can be applied to each new rollout and include all the tasks that are required for the successful implementation of a specific roaming service. In addition, automatic notifications will be sent to the person/staff responsible when a certain task is due or blocked. This way you reduce the length of the implementation process, you will go live sooner and get first revenues earlier.
The Rollout Manager is easy to use, can be fully integrated with the ROAMSYS RMS and offers a lot of advantages to you. For more information please contact us at info@roamsys.com.

October 01, 2009 One-click reporting across your roaming partners' AA.14 documents - ROAMSYS to unveil Report Manager at BARG in Copenhagen
For many operators the implementation of the RAEX standard has been a burden offering no obvious advantages. This is quite understandable as the true benefits were not evident - until now!
For sure you already had similar needs to following:
- Have you ever searched for specific information across your roaming partners, e.g. a contact-list of all people who are in charge of TADIG testing?
- Were you ever looking for a report, e.g. with all IOT prices to your country or for SMS-MO?
The ROAMSYS Report Manager provides these kinds of information at the push of a button. It will enable you to create individual reports and run queries through your roaming partners RAEX AA.14 documents very easily. This way you can create reports that show specific information across all your roaming partners (e.g. all SMS tariffs you have with your roaming partners, all PMNs who offer a specific service, all fraud contacts including email address, etc.). You specify which information you need and the system provides the respective report. You can even subscribe to reports and get notified weekly or monthly automatically.
To make sure you always have the latest AA.14 information in your reports, ROAMSYS offers the Document Collector which automatically picks up the latest AA.14 documents from the GSMA Infocentre or a user-defined email. This way you won't miss the latest documents and will save a lot of time compared to downloading your roaming partners' AA.14s manually.
If you want to learn more about the ROAMSYS Report Manager, the brand new Rollout Manager and our other Roaming Management Solutions (RMS), we invite you to meet us at the upcoming BARG conference in Copenhagen, October 12-14. To arrange for a personal briefing with one of our representatives please contact info@roamsys.com.
Of course, we can also arrange for a short online presentation and/or send you more information, if you are not going to attend the BARG conference in Copenhagen.
September 16, 2009 Successful year for ROAMSYS - Move to new head office scheduled for December

"This positive development together with a new set of offerings resulted in an expansion of our staff and the need for larger offices. Therefore we will move to a new Trier-based head office in December. Of course we guarantee continuos service during the move and will inform our customers of the new address in time."
Many thanks to all our clients for the close cooperation and valuable feedback provided to make ROAMSYS' positive development possible. We look forward to another great year in the roaming industry!

March 31, 2009 ROAMSYS RMS released
As of 1 April 2009, all GSM operators should exchange their AA.14s in the new RAEX 2009 format. AA.14s based on the old RAEX 2008 format should not be exchanged any more. As a major contributor in the relevant GSMA working groups standardising RAEX, ROAMSYS is very happy that the initial shortcomings of RAEX 2008 have been tackled successfully. An updated version of ROAMSYS RMS has been released now and ROAMSYS clients benefit from a seamless and transparent update. Their AA.14 data is automatically converted to the new RAEX format. All RMS clients will in addition benefit from an enhanced roaming partner GUI, an interface transmitting new AA.14s to their data clearing house automatically and also an optimized Document Manager. All new features of ROAMSYS RMS will be made available free of charge to ROAMSYS clients.
March 25, 2009 BARG 73 Review
The good news is that the RAEX AA.14 project has made very good progress so far. The vast majority of mobile network operators across the industry is aware of RAEX and they are either compliant or are currently working on being compliant. Being compliant means that a network operator has successfully converted their Word AA.14 to the new RAEX format and at the same time is able to receive RAEX documents. The group of networks already using RAEX AA.14 actively like the time savings when handling agreement annexes as well as the possibility of fast and precise reporting on roaming partner AA.14 data. Finally, the support for multiple IOTs will be standardized by the end of March 2009 - the IOT Task Force within the GSMA is currently casting a vote. Whatever the outcome of this, ROAMSYS clients using easyRAEX will be 100% compliant.
February 02, 2009 Interface to your DCH now part of easyRAEX RMS
When new RAEX documents are stored, the DCH will automatically and seamlessly be informed about this (e.g. to pass on IOT-check relevant data). All DCHs are supported by this feature.

October 27, 2008 RAEX - No more exceptions
Even though the RAEX standard became mandatory on July 1st 2008, many mobile operators didn't adapt the new format to exchange AA.14 documents. The main reason being reciprocating charging, which has not been a part of RAEX so far. Now - at last - all open issues about RAEX have been solved. At BARG #72 it also has been agreed that multiple IOTs are possible within RAEX. This means there are no more exceptions and all operators must implement RAEX by April 1st 2009, when it becomes mandatory for all operators to be able to receive RAEX documents. The Word- and PDF-based AA.14s will be completely replaced by XML-based documents. This will make the exchange of roaming data and documentation between network operators easier, faster and more cost effective.
If you want to be ready in time or learn more about RAEX and the implications of the latest decisions regarding reciprocating charging and multiple IOTs ask ROAMSYS. We are the main contributors to the RAEX standard and will help you to get the most out of it.

A service many operators were looking forward to, as it makes the transition from the old AA.14 documents to the new RAEX standard absolutely painless.
Many operators have not had time to investigate RAEX further and want a smooth transition to RAEX. They have been asking for some additional help and here it is comments ROAMSYS CFO Michael Grasmueck.
This service is offered at a very reasonable price of 890 EUR (approximately 1400 USD) and the only prerequisite is that operators use AA.14 version 5.0 or higher. RAEX (Roaming Agreement Electronic Exchange) is a new standard developed within the GSM Association. It will enable networks to easily exchange all AA.14 information in a machine readable format.
The new ROAMSYS product easyRAEX goes one step further: an operator's own AA.14 can be converted into the new RAEX format very fast: typically, with an average type of IOT, this will take about one hour. In addition, all received RAEX AA.14 documents can be stored and queried very comfortably. This gives operators the opportunity to greatly improve their efficiency when handling roaming agreement annexes - and thus freeing roaming team's time for more important tasks.
